Exciting news KickBackz family! A new colorway for the Air Jordan 10 is making its debut this year. Simply named “I’m Back”, this new colorway pays homage to the moment His Airness himself, Michael Jordan, decided it was time to make his triumphant return to the game of basketball after his attempt at making an MLB roster. Allow me to explain why this is a for sure cop.

Rewind. The date is now October 6, 1993. At the peak of his career and after winning his third consecutive NBA championship (First 3-Peat), Michael Jordan announced his retirement shocking the entire sports world. He decided to pick up the game of baseball during the 1994-95 season in honor of his late father.

"The mental aspect is not the same - the challenge is not as great. I promised myself - and I have said many times publicly - that when the mental challenge began to fade, I would leave. That time is now here."  -Michael Jordan

During the 1994-95 MLB season tensions grew between players and owners leading to a stoppage of play. Because of this labor strike, a player who wasn’t on a major league roster couldn’t report to spring training with a major league team, it could only be minor league. MJ, being a member of the Chicago White Sox minor league affiliate Birmingham Barons, didn’t want to sit out. Jordan began attending Chicago Bulls practices and regular pickup games fueling his need for competition and with that, the mental challenge began to grow again for him. On March 18, 1995, the decision was made. MJ broke the press as he announced he would rejoin the Chicago Bulls in arguably the most effective press release in sports history. Sometimes in life, less is more and with just two words “I’m Back” Jordan restored order in the sports universe.

This year on March 18th, Jordan Brand is celebrating His Airness’ triumphant comeback with a special edition Air Jordan 10, the shoe he wore in 1995. This will conveniently mark the 23rd anniversary of this historic day. Continuing with the simple “Less is more” theme, Jordan Brand decided to keep this colorway super simple. It features a two-tone white and black leather upper with solid white sole paying homage to his brief Minor League Baseball career with the Barons. Red highlights  the heel tabs with “I’m Back” on the left and the date of the announcement “3.18.95” set the cherry on top. With this colorway and dope story behind it, the “I’m Back” Air Jordan 10 should be a huge hit and could potentially go down as one of the best colorways for this model. Retail pricing at $190. Don’t sleep on this heat. Get a closer look below. Images from KickBackzNY.com.

Controversial rapper 6ix9ine showcases potential on ‘DAY69,’ but finds himself stuck on clichés.

21-year old 6ix9ine(Daniel Hernandez), is the latest rapper benefiting from a rise via SoundCloud.  With his ascent also comes controversy – a sexual misconduct case. Regardless, he scored a hit with “GUMMO”, one of 11 songs that appears on his debut project, DAY69(February 23, 2018), released via ScumGang.  While he showcases potential on the album, he finds himself stuck on clichés.
